Specialized Foster Care
Family Service Specialized Foster Care Program identifies stable,
loving homes for children and teens of all ages who are unable
to live with their biological families. Children referred to
this foster care program are often victims of abuse and neglect
and have special emotional needs.
As with any type of child rearing, foster parenting is life-changing,
challenging and rewarding. Foster parents open their hearts and
homes to children by providing a safe, nurturing family environment.
Foster parents serve as primary caregivers until reunification
with the biological family is possible. Placement may be as brief
as a few weeks or last until a permanent home is secured.
- Foster families receive initial training and orientation
as well as training and support through the duration of placement.
- Parents
receive a non-taxable, monthly compensation for each foster
child.
- Staff support is available 24 hours a day,
7 days a week
Give a child in need the opportunity to live in a safe, stable
and loving home while having a chance to enjoy, “just being
a kid.”
