Hunger Doesn't Take a Vacation: June 15 - August 31

With the end of the school year approaching quickly, kids are getting ready for sun and fun! Unfortunately, for many children and families in our community, summer vacation means not knowing when or what their next meal will be.

Families in need often rely on free/reduced breakfast and lunch offered throughout the school-year. The risk of malnutrition rises during the summer months when families lose access to these essential programs.

New Jersey estimates 39,000 children are at risk of malnutrition when federal and school breakfast and lunch programs are NOT available during the summer.
