Family Service Kicks Off Operation Fill-A-Backpack Drive

 

Mt. Holly, NJ- Every child deserves a great first day of school. Unfortunately, many parents of children in Family Service programs simply cannot afford new backpacks & basic school supplies for the upcoming school year.

Family Service invites the community to “Fill-A-Backpack” for a child or teen in need of support. The Operation Fill-A-Backpack drive will run August 1-31. A new backpack and school supplies will give a child hope and the confidence needed to start the school year off on the right foot.

Operation Fill-A-Backpack donation ideas include:

Book covers Scissors & glue sticks Pocket folders
Calculators (solar/scientific) Three-ring binder w/ paper Erasers & pencil cases
Protractors & Rulers Facial tissue & hand sanitizer Backpacks & lunchboxes
Index Cards Crayons, markers, highlighters Pens & Pencils

This is also a great opportunity to involve family members, friends or co-workers. Family Service will provide all the materials needed to run drives from any location.

Drop off donations, August 1 through August 31, at one of the following locations:

  • Family Service, 770 Woodlane Rd., Suite 23, Mt. Holly, NJ 08060
  • Starbucks- Moorestown, Mt. Laurel & Delran
  • Autolenders- Egg Harbor Twp., Voorhees, Williamstown, Winslow, Lakewood & Toms River, NJ
  • Moorestown Mall- Customer Service Center, Moorestown, NJ

Family Service depends on support from individuals, corporations and community groups to ensure the Operation Fill-A-Backpack drive is a success.The agency isexcited to work with several new partners on this year's drive including Moorestown Mall. Lisa Wolstromer, senior marketing director at Moorestown Mall says, "Moorestown Mall is proud to support Family Service and their charitable endeavor to provide disadvantaged youth with back-to-school essentials."
