Give a Day to
Family Service & Get a Day at Disney!
The "Give A Day. Get A Disney Day" program hopes to
inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service
to a participating organization in their communities.
Participants will be awarded a 1-day, 1-theme park ticket
to the Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort.
They have the option to redeem the ticket or donate it to
a participating organization.

opportunities range from painting a Family Service group

Teens from a few Family Service group homes are getting involved in Haitian Relief! They are collecting jeans from the local community to help the numerous amounts of young people in need in Haiti. The Teens for Jeans program is sponsored by Aeropostale and was created by Do Something. The campaign ends February 14. Check out the website here.

Comcast's Freedom Region recently wrapped up a food drive for the Family Service
Food Pantry. Employees from 12 sites throughout NJ, PA and DE

Family Service's children's residential programs recently held their 4th annual "Show Me the Love" celebration at the Charles Yates Center for Children and Families. The event gave the youngsters an opportunity to spend time with their families, enjoy a catered lunch and display thier many talents. Children and teens prepared poems, speeches, dances and songs expressing their appreciation and love for those in attendance. JB, a 17 year old from Kearsley Group Home, wrote a speech about what Family Service means to him.
"What I Think of Family Service
I'm not much for speeches but all I can say about Family Service is that they help me out when I'm in need. They're the ones
to keep you safe. When you feel out of control they are the ones who understand how you feel. Sure, there are some things they do that aggravates you but you got to let it pass. Any negative feelings you had long ago, let it go and you'll feel free. Family Service can help you do that."
Kearsley Group Home provides a safe, structured community placement for developmentally delayed children ages 6-21.

United Way Breakfast
April 1, 2009 at the United Way Breakfast, Family Service was presented with an award of excellence for its significant and high level of support to the United Way of Burlington County.
Additionally, Patti Passarelli was presented with the employee chair award for running the best practice campaign that best exemplifies qualities of leadership, dedication and enthusiasm.
Congratulations to all those who contributed to the United Way campaign and also to Patti for being chosen for this award.
